Yes, our linear slot diffusers can absolutely be used as a retrofit—as long as the existing cutout in your ceiling or wall matches (or is slightly smaller than) the neck size of the diffuser.
A few key points for retrofit installs:

✅ The face depth is only 1/8", so it gives a clean, low-profile look after installation.

🔧 If you’re replacing a traditional vent with a different shape (like a 25"x20"), you may need to patch or modify the opening to match one of our available sizes (we do not offer custom sizing).
